As we are a young family, we are always on the lookout for fun things to do with our little ones.  Here are some of our favourites:

Children

Activities

Playground in Teguise (by the car park) - great for slides and climbing!

Playground and skate park in Caleta de Famara (next to Centro Socio Cultural).

Pardelas Park (on LZ-204, 1km south of Orzola) - meet and feed the animals; ticket includes animal feed; staff are very welcoming and friendly; good home-made food at the restaurant; playground

Rancho Texas Park (on LZ-40 between Matagorda and Puerto del Carmen) - so much to do you could spend all day there: water park, canoeing, pony rides, sea lion show, falconry display, restaurant, Lilliput Farm, pumas and white tigers, crocodiles, armadillos, snowy owls and more!

Walks

Montana Cuervo (LZ-56, northwards to Mancha Blancha, just by Municipio de Tinajo markers) - the path leads from the road up to, around and then inside the volcano; walk takes about 10 minutes each way so it's manageable for little ones and also a great geography lesson!

Puerto Calero (LZ-2, southwards to Yaiza) - a leisurely walk beside the marina to see the boats, browse in the shops, eat in one of the seafront restaurants or stop for an ice cream

Lago Verde at El Golfo (LZ-704, north-west towards El Golfo from Yaiza) - park in the small car park on your left as you enter the village.  Follow the signs for a short walk around the headland to the spectacular green lagoon.  Stop for a meal afterwards at one of the seafood restaurants along the seafront at El Golfo.

Beaches

Charca de la Novia beach (on LZ-1 going northwards, before you get to Orzola, there is a little road off to the right leading to the car park) - a paradise for little children: rock pools, white sandy beach and very shallow water.

Playa San Juan (on the other side of Caleta de Famara, down an unsurfaced road) - picturesque spot, great view back to Famara, rock pooling and surfing

Shopping

Artesania Lanzarotena (Plaza de La Constitucion, 12 Teguise) - a great shop to browse in; local arts, crafts, food, wine and lovely clothes.  An ice cream at a nearby cafe would be a welcome after treat for good behaviour!
